Winners are awarded certificates and trophies, and receive $1,000.

The 2022 Team Awards event was presented in Auckland by Rodney Wayne himself alongside Rodney Wayne education and creative director, Newton Cook. They helped celebrate each of the winners and outlined a little of what made their achievements outstanding.
Rodney Wayne Hair Stylist of the Year
Congratulations to the supreme award winner, Stylist of the Year 2022, Angeline Thornley of Rodney Wayne Lambton Quay in Wellington. Angeline is acclaimed for continually utilising her impressive technical skills in delivering expert hair coloration and styling as well as an exceptional guest experience.
Guest Service and Team Leader of the Year
Rodney Wayne Floor Managers ensure the quality and the beauty of the work that is created by the entire team. Winner of Floor Manager of the Year 2022 is Olivia Hopkins of Rodney Wayne Bethlehem. Olivia is recognised locally and throughout the country for her passion and dedication to providing hair colouration, style and service at the highest levels.
Guest Service and Product Expertise Manager of the Year
Rodney Wayne Front of House Managers serve as a Maître d’ at the reception of the salon whilst working in conjunction with the salon and support team. Winner of Front Manager of the Year 2022 is Donna Wright of Rodney Wayne Riccarton. Please join us in acknowledging her passion and dedication to service.
Hair Care Expertise Manager of the Year
Rodney Wayne Shampoo ’n’ Things Managers lead their team to provide expert haircare advice and service to ensure New Zealanders receive the best quality haircare products for their hair type and lifestyle requirements. Winner of Shampoo ’n’ Things Manager of the Year 2022 is Paula Searle of Shampoo ’n’ Things Albany.
New talent of the Year
Helping people achieve their true potential and developing talent is a value held dearly by all at Rodney Wayne. Winner of the Newcomer of the Year Award for 2022 is Emily McKenzie of Rodney Wayne Riccarton. Emily really does deliver a ‘Wow!’ experience.
Colour Technician of the Year
Colouration expertise, providing beautiful hair colour without damage to hair health is what sets Rodney Wayne apart. Winner of the Colour Technician of the Year Award for 2022 is Jessie Xiang from Rodney Wayne Shore City in Takapuna. Jessie helps bring out the best and reveal the true beauty of her clients every day.
Hair Apprentice of the Year
Rodney Wayne has long supported the career pathways of young hair care professionals. There are currently 70 hair apprentices in Rodney Wayne salons around New Zealand. So it is a high honour that winner of the Apprentice of the Year Award for 2022 is Rosie Walsh of Rodney Wayne Whangaparaoa.
Haircare Expert of the Year
Winner of the Rodney Wayne Shampoo ’n’ Things Retailer of the Year 2022 is Sima Lata of Shampoo ’n’ Things LynnMall. Sima is renowned for providing delightful service and expert advice on exactly the right salon-quality haircare is best for the people in her community.
