Bold, beautiful and bespoke: Sophie Song’s fierce new look.
“Today’s hair made me feel strong, confident and fierce… like straight out of a video game.” This is how Sophie Song described her striking new look, created for the ‘Your Way to Shine’ collection. With a fearless blend of colours, Sophie’s hair is the result of expert artistry, premium colour products and a truly personalised approach. Here’s how Sophie’s look came to life.
The Vision: Fashion Hair Coloration, Custom Created for Sophie
Great hair begins with a consultation. For Sophie, the goal was a bold, expressive colour that felt completely her own. Think vibrant and artistic, yet healthy and full of shine. To make the vision a reality, Rodney Wayne Creative and Education Director Newton Cook worked alongside colourist Bryan from Rodney Wayne Wellington, one of the capital’s most talented artists.
The Colour: Bespoke Green Glows
Before any colour was applied to Sophie’s hair, a L’Oréal Professionnel Metal Detox treatment was performed. Metal Detox is a professional protocol that removes metal build-up from the hair prior to colouring. It’s an important step, because metal deposits can compromise colour results and lead to damage.
Bryan then created a bespoke blend of greens and yellows, applied through carefully placed fashion panels that shift and play against each other as the hair moves. The fringe received its own deeper green treatment, anchoring the look with a striking, editorial edge. The service was completed with a Kérastase Fusio Dose in-salon concentrate, which seals in the colour and gives the hair instant vibrancy and shine.
This kind of look is entirely personal. The tones, placement and intensity are all designed around the individual, which is why a consultation with your Rodney Wayne stylist is always the best place to start.
The Shape: Structure That Makes Colour Sing
Sophie’s cut was designed to let the colour really shine through. A solid one-length baseline creates a strong, clean foundation, while a blunt micro fringe adds bold impact at the front. Long internal layers bring softness and movement, and the shortest layer sits at the chin, which allows the colour panels to separate and reveal their full depth as the hair moves. Ends were refined with a deep point cut to keep the shape light, textured and effortlessly wearable.
The Finish: Glossy and Vibrant
On shoot day, Sophie’s hair was prepped with Kérastase Nectar Thermique and Kérastase Elixir Ultime for softness, protection and shine. Then the look was finished with Kérastase Glaze Drops for a mirror-like, light-catching glow. The result was vivid, healthy and luminous.
Take Home Care: Kérastase Blonde Absolu
Keeping colour this vivid looking its best between salon visits starts with the right products at home. For this look, Newton recommends the Kérastase Blonde Absolu collection to maintain colour health and shine:
Kérastase Bain Lumière: A hydrating professional quality shampoo that gently cleanses without stripping, leaving hair light and luminous.
Cicaflash: A fortifying conditioner that strengthens and deeply nourishes colour-treated hair without weighing it down.
Cicaplasme: A leave-in treatment cream that repairs and protects lightened and coloured hair, leaving it soft and radiant.
Together, they’re everything Sophie’s colour needs to stay vibrant and healthy between visits.
Your Turn: Make it Yours
Sophie’s look is proof that hair colour can be a genuine form of self-expression: bold, joyful and completely personal. The best colour, as Newton enthuses, is the one that feels like the most fabulous version of you.
